As I walked out of the apartment yesterday morning, the ground was looking awfully shiny. lmaooo
So I step my foot out to test the waters to see if that was really ice and off i went.
BAM!
down on my ass. shit. i couldnt even brace myself for impact cuz I wasn't expecting to go down quite so suddenly. lmaoo I was grasping for what nothing? there was nothing around for me to hold on to! lmaooo
So then, I then i manage to halfway get up and...
BAM!!!!
down I went again. lmaooo
tried again and
BAM!!!!!
This shit was getting ridiculous. Here I wasn't even 10 feet from the door and I have fallen 3 times down the porch that consists of 2 concrete steps.
Sooo, I rolled my big ass over on the icy ground and made it to the snow. To which I finally was able to stand up.
then i face a dilemma.
more fucking ice.
soooo, i attempted to jump across the sidewalk to another bank of snow (really the grass covered with snow) and...
BAM!!!!!
down I went again.
So then I kinda sat there and looked and considered my options.
Attempt to go back to the apartment and try to go back up two icy ass steps with nothing to hold on to....
or go fiend my way to the bus stop. so I jumped snow banks rather successfully and approached the street. the street looked like a sheet of glass. NO JOKE. lmaoo
somehow, i made it across making small, iddy bitty steps. made it all the way to the bus stop without further incident. waited an 1.5 hour for the bus. the only reason why I didn't call off cuz i wouldn't have gotten my holiday pay for yesterday.
shit on them! lmao
girl are you hurt? lol. I can't help but laugh i'm sorry but i hope you are ok.
ReplyDeleteDamn....all I can say is DAMN.
ReplyDeleteNow that's just the kind of stuff that makes my laugh hysterically! I hope you weren't hurt tho, but--damn--I do wish it was on film--I could use a good laugh right about now.........
ReplyDeleteI am sore as shit!! NO lie! I meant to take an epsom salt bath last night so i wouldnt wake up sore...
ReplyDeletebut i was tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired.
So I step my foot out to test the waters to see if that was really ice
ReplyDeleteLMAO, hilarious
That's not even funny, I'm sorry - I refuse to laugh.
ReplyDeleteLast time I did something like that (stepped out my front door and fell down the marble steps) I landed face down and broke a small bone in my hand trying not to land on my FACE.
Be careful sweetness...
I never made it to work. CTA suspended service where I live. I didn't fall but I sure was sliding. There was a lady on the bus stop who had been there since 4 am and it was 6:30 then. I waited until 7:45 then went home and called the job. I don't know what time the buses started running but I wasn't waiting.
ReplyDeleteI will be careful. shit marble steps??? wowwwwwwwwwww dont know if i woulda been laughing either.
ReplyDeleteBut i swear 'fore anythang holy, I needed that laugh.
Everytime I imagine my ass rolling over in the ice to the snow, I howl. lmao
Damn...see that is so not funny. See why I am not a fan of ice and snow?
ReplyDeleteservice was suspended here too. the first bus attempted to come out from what i was told, and slid into a snow bank on 115th and king dr. so we looked at him sitting there. I was out there at 5:45 and one didn't come until 7:20. It wasn't that bad cuz we were over there cutting up looking at them fools trying to gas it on the ice at a stop light. and we stood far enough back in case one of those fool ass drivers jumped a curve.
ReplyDeleteit was awfully warm for that ice to not melt more quickly. I never even got cold.
I had about 12 people tell me that they fell yesterday... that shit is not cute! I had to do several balance checks and I slid along verrry slowly, but I managed not to fall... yet... LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't even COLD.. it was the middle of June and the steps were merely WET from a light rain... I didn't even get to close the door... one step out... both legs in the air, bounced down the steps and rolled to the side. But I was surely doing the Watusi down a sidewalk slicked with a nearly invisible scrim of ice last weekend in Philly... the curbs were slick and the sidewalks were sheeted.... it took me 20 minutes to walk half a block.
ReplyDeleteAnd now it's like 60 degrees out & all the snow is melting away. This global warming thing HAS to be real!
ReplyDeleteHubby fell down at work and has a tennis ball sized knob on his left knee.
OUCH.....I DID'NT FALL THATMANY TIMES......DANG....LOL
ReplyDeleteGo to Angel (Stiffy) and he'll give u a much-needed taint massage.
ReplyDelete*blank stare*
ReplyDeleteJust ... damn. I'm glad you are ok though.
(I bet that was funny to watch. You know someone was looking..lol)
this damn weather is something else. that was yesterday.
ReplyDeleteToday? 61 degrees.

ReplyDeleteToday? 61 degrees.
Saw this in the inbox and had to come laugh at and with you. This ice is killer! My friend fell a couple weeks ago and broke her ass Literally, broke the coccyx bone. OUCH! So you really can break your ass! lol

ReplyDeleteBaby I really don't mean to laugh at U but I started crackin up as I read it cause I was visualizing this whole thing and it cracked me up. I'm truly glad U didn't get hurt but damn that s**t was hilarious to read!!!!
ReplyDeleteGirl this aint EVEN funny but I had to smile at the way you told the story. I know you're sore but I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt.
ReplyDeleteLMAO GIRL U R CRAZY IM GLAD YOU R OK THOUGH
ReplyDeleteThat brings me waaay back to a time I had just walked to the store down the street from the crib it was like 94-95 now I had made it all the way to the store yeah the lot look like the snow was packed down and kinda icy but I made it in the door safely. I come out see one of my dogs from high school go to wave and step at the same time.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I did this sort of pirouette, swan dive, back flip and landed on my ass. My dog was rolling he was like was you trying to do the karate kid. To make matters worse right before I fell I was like dude I got this I don't slip on the swoop. And usually I don't slip on the ice I mean you grow up walking on ice for a good 3 months out he year you kinda learn to adjust your balance.
Hell so far this winter we have only had one kinda whitish day here in memphis. Mostly 60 degree days which is weird as hell.
Hope your okay, I hope you bought some salt on your way home, or while I know it's expensive have some sea salt that you can toss onto the ground to try to break that crap up
The way you told the story had me lmao..I am so glad that you did not get hurt bad, although I know you have to be sore,, black ice is so dangerous..
ReplyDeleteI am STILL hurting! LMAOO
