PFFFFFFFFFFFT
Now for me, I really, really, really, want this ring. I wasn't fortunate enough to have one in high school, I didn't graduate from college the first time so I feel like this is my just due.
My god-niece's school do a whole ring mass ceremony at her all girls catholic school. They all have the same ring. It is a school tradition, all the girls who have ever graduated from there get the same ring.
So, did you get your class ring? If so, what kind did you get???
The Classic
The Traditional
The Modern
The Persona
Did you get it for college, or just high school? Do you think there is a certain point in which a person just ages out of such?
Me personally, I am just TOO outdone with the prices! The cheapest is 250, and that is for the smaller looking rings and I don't think that is going to go over too well on my size 10.5 finger. I don't remember rings costing this much? Were they always this expensive???
And yes, I am taking graduation pics too.
And did you know there are kindergartener class rings as well???
This is your moment, your achievement, enjoy every moment class rings, pics etc..Mine was from High School and College.....Traditional.........the prices have gone up but your education is priceless dear...I want to see the pics too....smile
ReplyDeleteCongrats
Gene
I didn't get a High school class ring, couldn't afford it but when I graduate college at this ripe old age LOL!!! I will get one. So if you want one get it. It doesn't matter how old you are this is you time to shine and you deserve that ring.
ReplyDeleteYOU GO!!!!
Can I take you to the prom..Smiling
ReplyDeleteGene
Not something I ever had to worry about, but yours looks beautiful and yanno what? If you graduate and the tradition is you acquire a class ring, then who gives a shit how old you are?
ReplyDeleteWell done! :D
if there was such a thing for college grads, I would be going. LOL
ReplyDeletewho gives a shit indeed!
ReplyDeleteI didnt get mine in high school... and when I graduated last summer... I couldnt afford to get one... but when my daughter graduates next spring, Imma get one for me! I am 42 and its my DUE!!
ReplyDeletePeep the blog for the latest editions in class rings. Yep, now they have them for kindergartners. smh
ReplyDeleteGirl, you got me over here wondering where the hell my class ring from Immaculate Conception Academy for Girls is... we had a similar ceremony, and then they took us on a field trip to a convent... in my day, they worked REALLY hard on getting the girls to give their lives to God... I probably needed that shit, but my lower extremities had another calling... any who, i gots to find my ring, my momma paid some serious loot for that damn ring and that was in '84...
ReplyDeleteLisa, if you want a ring, then dammit get a ring.. you've been working your ass off for this day, so i say treat yourself to a ring... BUT, will you really wear the ring? ya know they make really nice graduation charms that you could put on a necklace or a charm bracelet... just an idea!
Ya know what? scratch that! You get YOUR ring and ta hell with the rest of them...
OK!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just wonder, is there a certain amount of prestige associated with the class ring? Or has the meaning and tradition been lost?
I think the tradition and meaning has been lost. Kids nowadays want cars, trips, and other big ticket items for graduation gifts. I did get mine back in the day but someone stole it (from my own house nonetheles & most likely by a relative)...yeah some of my family are trife like that. I mean, how do you steal someone's memories...plus it was very much personalized to my high school activities with pom pon horn on one side, music notes on the other for choir, the stone was blue for school color, and my name was engraved inside....
ReplyDeleteYou want a ring...get a ring. What the heck do "they" know anyhow? Youth is sooo wasted on the young, Pffffffffffffft is right.
ReplyDeleteI had a high school ring. I got it in February and lost it in the same year...I really liked that ring too. It was 10 karat gold. the classic style, Pink Tourmaline (my birth stone), smooth cut with my zodiac sign in it...
Kindergarten rings? I guess if you got the dough...
shittt, i aint got that kinda dough! lmaoo minime bets catch a clue! lmaoo
ReplyDeleteGurl, I want one, too! I'd like to see anybody try to tell me I'm too damn old. Fuuug that! We busted our ASSES to do what we have done. We are examples for single momma's everywhere who want to go back to school but need a little boost. YOU EARNED THIS. YOU WANT IT? YOU GET IT.
ReplyDeletePrices suck, though. I can't afford one so I'm going to wait until I finish grad school to do it. The good thing is that I think they let you do payments, so if you REALLY want one, check it out.
I'm taking pics, too. I think we should see if we can get one together. We could have a caption added that says "We survived Kevin Walsh! Class of 2008" HAHAHAHA
HA!!! lmaooooooooo
ReplyDeleteI did get a class ring for HS but I lost it. Pffft. I loved that ring. When I get a chance, I plan to get another one to replace it. I say get one if you want one. Whomever said that was an insenstive jerk. Get what you want!
ReplyDeleteGet the ring if you want it! I did not get mine when I graduated HS nor college...at times I wish I did, but I still live a full and meaningful life without them. Bottom line - you do you! ~ E
ReplyDeleteHello I happen to see this while blog reading on my phone last night, and just had to comment. You worked hard for your education, and your degree. So I say along with everyone else go on and celebrate your acheivement and buy your ring!!! I can't help but wonder if the person who proclaimed you are too old is simply jealous because THEY NEVER GOT A RING OF THEIR OWN. Pffftttt
ReplyDeleteI don't wear it anymore (well sometimes) but I have a high school ring. I was so proud of that ring because I bought it myself. Classic, 18 K, stone was for October month (not my month got the month of a former best friend), and Wildcats representing my high school team on one side, and my name inscribed on the inside. I thought I had lost it, so for 6 years did not have it. I found it when I happen to be going through some bags before moving to GA. It had fallen inside and I never knew it.
I did not get a college ring could not afford it and never tried. I'm hoping to go back to college for another degree, Nursing and will get one then should I do that.
Get your ring, and congrats to you!!!
I say get a ring.
ReplyDeleteI got mine only for high school i have yet to graduate from college but when i do i certainly plan on getting on as well. I got a modern ring and actually got to place most of the things where i wanted.
So get your ring because it's your accomplishment not theirs and anyone who tells you different would like one themselves.
i got my highscool ring, but my folks paid for it...then I pawned it when I was in college b/c I was broke *lol*
ReplyDeleteI think you've earned a ring, if that's what you want...but they have always been at least $250-300...that's nothing new. So if you can swing it, do it!
being that I am a gold wearer, unfortunately, that price is out the picture. I absolutely cannot believe gold starting at 420!!!! BUT, they do have a payment plan! Wear as you pay they call it!
ReplyDeletethat there is a thought, cuz, no, they didnt finish high school traditionally and never went to college. hmmmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteyanno, I like those rings, they just look TOO small for my big finger!
ReplyDeleteThis person that said this. Tell them jealousy will only make them bitter inside. Then, when you get your ring...FLAUNT THAT BITCH! Followed by an "IN YO FACE!"
ReplyDeleteYanno, you didnt used to be this fiesty! LMAOOO
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing the energy you have when you don't have to stay up all night doing homework. Well, all night in between naps...
ReplyDeletenah, unless i graduated from yale or somethin i wouldnt bother
ReplyDeletedidnt get one for high school either
they just arent my style in general
but if u want one, go for it!!
yes they have always been that expensive!!! when i graduated from HS my dad looked at the choices and picked out the cheapest one and said " i will pay for this one, if you want something nicer you can spend the difference" that is what i got. It was the classic in your pics and I wore it for ohhh six months.
ReplyDeletei didn't get a collge ring. but then again i got married right about the same time.
Before you plunk down that kind of cash i would browse the local jewlery store and see what other gifts you might like for yourself. If in the end the class ring is for you i would still shop around. there are so many places to buy them right now i just don't know how the prices compare
too late. lmaoo i plunked down 500 smackaroos for the Traditional. It is gonna be SO lovely. I was soooo excited about it, I had tears in my eyes. Thank God for wear and pay payment plans.
ReplyDeleteAwww....good for you!!!
