I am having issues with outside lurkers reappearing constantly on some blogs and I have closed off many blogs. I am sorry for them popping back up in your Inbox.
I am not talking about folks on the Ply, or rather, the people who show up at the bottom of the blog. when you have blogs set for EVERYONE, everyone outside of ply can see it if they have your url for your page. I have a tracker on my page and many blogs have been hit repeatedly from the same locations around the country and not showing up on the whos viewed them list, so I closed them off.
Uhm... You're right about that. EVERYONE does mean EVERYONE. You can even set your homepage to specifically be for people you want to read it; like the guestbook, etc.
Uhm... that's folks who come in thru their email accounts. Sometimes you can have your PLY notices come straight to your email. You use a certain pin and you can comment and post.
Otherwise, it's a PLY glitch. You can click the option at the bottom to view everyone who visited your page, they'll more than likely be there.
i noticed that too but all the people who comment on my blogs are people i tend to already get comments from anyway so it really doesn't creep me out. yet that does happen. Multiply is getting glitchy these days so i don't know if that is one of them or not.
I don't come in through my emails. I check on my computer or through my phone. But I have been told that I am invisible sometimes. But I don't have any secrets to it. (shrugs)
I set up a blog once so that only specific contacts could see it. but Multiply said "note certain people will still see it based on their email notification" i think that is a glitch multiply needs to fix
I wonder why do people post on the internet , Then are concerned when people come by to look and see what the blog is about.?? I mean there are lurkers everywhere. I think lurkers get a bad name because maybe they are jus curious about the content of the blog, and maybe after reading the blog they decide this is a subject they dont know about , so they choose to say nothing.
I feel the real definition of a lurker is someone who shows up at ALL your post and NEVER says anything. In reality, its the internet shared by millions and millions of people. Anything really personal should never be in a post anyway and on pm's only. Or maybe the old fashioned email.
Just adding to the conversation, not directing these comments at anyone in paticular.
I have a particular issue with maybe not lurkers, but stalkers. Particularly those who I have fallen out with. those who are making false pages or on blogs that are marked public and then showing up and then hiding behind closed doors talking about me, starting shit and the like. Since you asked.
Yea I feel you on the stalker angle. Me and this lady quit hangin so tough and she was/is a stalker mentality. 6 differnt damn multiply names. Now thats issues....
How can a person talk about you to your friends? It seems your friends would be like --check that shii. -- And tell them to take their gossip elsewhere. Thtas what real friends supposed to do. I think it takes a really shallow, weak, stupid person to go around discussing someone else on a internet blog. It seems they should go directly to whomever they got a problem with and deal with it. Sounds like the 3rd grade all over again.
I guess its too much to expect, everyone to be an adult.
i dont understand?
ReplyDeletewhen you change the settings such as everyone being able to see to just contacts, the blog will pop to top of the inbox.
ReplyDeleteohhhhh. ok.
ReplyDeleteYou gotta keep the creepy lurkers at bay... I understand. Happy New Year girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteSo far, I haven't had any old posts pop up. But thanks for telling me Sis.
ReplyDeleteAnd I DO understand. I've been there. I just set certain blogs to a specific list of viewers.
You can even create your specific lists to specific people who you want to see your blogs, even if they're not your direct contacts. FYI.
Salaam Sis. Hope this helped. And thanks for the heads up.
Thats good. maybe they fixed that glitch. LMAO
