  3. I know right? and i dont think it is fair for employers to force people to work in that madness. cuz, downtown chicago with a bunch of people is nothing but MADNESS. and then you talking, secret service, several different police agencies, etc, etc, etc...

  4. I don't blame 'em; business is business. Times are tough and as a business owner you've gotta do what's best for your business.

  5. yea, but i guess i am thinking about the older folks that are working,

how the train system running southbound almost shuts down during any event... (too busy serving the good white folks on the northside)

how the buses on the west and southsides is gonna come to a standstill as the service TRIPLES for the northsiders and the suburbanites...

it is gonna be a mess

  6. AND....

Businesses will more than make up for it tomorrow....

All of those folks in the hotels on Michigan Ave are not going home tomorrow...

believe you me, they will STILL make their money.

  9. but asking restruants to close is inviting trouble. instead of having a million people in the area you will have a million hungry people. they should be encouraging shops to have extra staff on hand to handle the crowd

  10. i can understand that, but i can only assume, that since the mayor has asked them to close, he got some vendors that is going to be set up in the park.

  11. I doubt it. City planers in Atlanta have a history of shutting things down and causing more problems than the crowd would on their own.
