QOTD: How did your vote go???

I voted last Thursday, I waited 4 hours to early vote so I wouldn't have to worry about it today.

MiniMe's schools is a polling place, and the principle got spooked at the potential for chaos today, so he canceled school today. , That really went over well at work. LMAO I laugh but Imma be out of a job in a minute! lmaoo It is kind of funny though, my job is located downtown Chicago, in the heart of where the big party is going to be. The mayor asked all businesses to close early, as a security precaution and so people can get the hell out of downtown and my store is remaining open.

I guess the potential for making money with maybe 100,000 people descending upon downtown Chicago is just too much to pass by.

Anywaysss,  Mom went at 5:45 this morning, was in the front part of the line and was done 20 minutes  after the polls opened at 6.

When she left, the line was halfway down the block and my grandfather was at the end of the line.

So, how did it go when you voted???  Was it quick, or a long wait???

I am sure it was pretty quick for this guy... LOL

  9. I voted early... it took me about an hour. i wasn't as much worried about the lines as trying to keep three kids occupied while i waited.

  18. I got to my polling place at 5:50 and once the doors opened we thought it was gonna be smooth.. The school did some renovations since the last time we held an election and nearly half the space that it once was... was no more.. So the space was kinda cramped and the workers did a pretty poor job of directing us in the proper lines... But because it was early and people were just filing in, I imagined it would take a minute to get a rhythm going... But I was in and out in 40 minutes or a lil over..

I just hope they've cleared up the lil malfunction so people could get in and out a lot smoother.. I heard a few people getting frustrated and the worst thing to do is get a bunch of people frustrated and angry... that usually makes people wanna give up... But I think the attitude was overall good..

  19. oh yeahhhh

and i wonder if the city is gonna be able to snap back in time....

especially if the returns are late....

i am expecting it will be cuz as long as people are in line when the polls close, they get to vote....

and there may be a mad dash at the 5 and 6 o'clock hours to vote....

making the last ballot not being cast until very late....

    oy vey

    i am getting toooo anxious!!!!

  20. yeah...

*we* get a little bit of the polling judge power....

and lose our natural minds. lmaooo

  21. It took me all of 15 minutes. I can see the polling place from my bedroom window.

  22. I wish I had my camera with me.. One of the judges or election officials there look just like Pop from the Wayan's brothers... Gray suit and white shoes and all... I think he dressed like that on purpose, because he was actually trying to keep people smiling around there... which I think is a good thing.. because he probably knew it would be some congestion and aggrevation..

  23. Im just wondering... out of all the elections I've ever paid attention to... come election day there is always a shit load of placards and signs posted up in the grass just outside the polling places entrance and men and women handing out leaflets of which party to vote for... But today I hardly saw any... Not that I ever really take the leaflets from them or pay attention to the placards cuz my mind is already made up... I was just wondering why or if that was only in my area...

  24. well, i believe all campaigning has to be at least 100 feet from the poll doors.

  25. thats funny cuz the guy who was at the place i voted at had the shoes and the hat to match. lmaooo i believe it is called a fedora. he was just missing the feather. LMAOO and he had a pimp strut as he worked the lines. lmaoo

    ReplyDelete
  26. I get that part... but its like I dont see any signs... I dont see anyone outside the polling places to advocate for mccain or obama... unless its just in my area... Im just curious..

    ReplyDelete
  27. i think it could be cuz we are not a battleground state. obama has illinois in the bag.

  28. Pimps and hustlers working the polling places looking for fly fresh young honeys... I bet he was an older man thinking he was the gift to all women... lol

  40. How long did you wait?

I went perusing the neighborhood, trynna see if the lines were long at the polling sites by my house, and there were no lines but then too, over here, there is a polling site every other block.

i was kinda disappointed to not see lines and lines.
